Ryebridge Ltd are eager to promote and enhance their professionalism and profile within their area of expertise and the construction industry as a whole. They achieve this by seeking accreditation and acknowledgement through professional assessment and awarding bodies such as the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS), British Safety Council, ISO, Achilles and ROSPA. These show external recognition for our continual drive for excellence and perfection: it’s in our DNA.
By making health and safety a priority we continue to play our part in improving workplaces for our employees, clients, partners and the public.
We concentrate on basic issues which, together with a strong focus on health and safety leadership, result in regular reductions in both our Accident Frequency Rates (AFR) and Accident Incident Rates (AIR).
We provide information and training to enable our employees to develop and maintain essential Health and Safety skills and also to encourage the growth of a positive Health and Safety culture.
We are committed to ensuring all our site managers and supervisors hold either the Construction Skills Site Managers or Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS or SSSTS) certificate or a recognised equivalent qualification, and we are working towards this target.
Ryebridge Ltd have gained CHAS accreditation which is a nationally recognised accreditation scheme. This helps demonstrate to clients a level of compliance with health and safety law in terms of competence as well as enabling compliance with the health and safety elements of the construction industry.
Ryebridge Ltd is also a member of the British Safety Council which will help in meeting legislation and raising health, safety and environmental standards.
These accreditations, along with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) Silver award Ryebridge gained in 2012 and the ROSPA gold award gained in association with London Luton Airport in 2013 is a significant step in demonstrating the company’s commitment to raising standards of health.
Ryebridge Ltd gained OHSAS 18001 in March 2012; this management system ensures that everyone is not just “doing his or her own thing”, and that the organisation goes about its business in an orderly and structured way.
By systemising processes and procedures we ensure that nothing important is left out and that everyone is clear about who is responsible for doing what, when, how, why and where.
Ryebridge Ltd have completed a stringent process allowing them to gain Achilles UVDB accreditation. Achilles UVDB is the community for the UK utilities industry. It enables the utilities sector to use Achilles’ proven supplier pre-qualification system to manage risk within the supply chain and comply with EU regulations.

In March 2012, Ryebridge Ltd gained ISO 9001 accreditation. Implementing ISO 9001:2008 is driving the continuous improvement of our quality management systems (QMS) and processes. In turn, this improves our ability to meet customer requirements and expectations.

Where possible, Ryebridge Ltd utilises local labour and chooses the most environmentally friendly companies (within reasonable distance) to dispose of our waste materials. In our work at London Luton Airport we have introduced pioneering environmental construction practice with major benefits in both cost and environmental impact (see case study).

We have an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system that governs our processes and enables us to achieve and demonstrate our environmental performance by minimising the negative impact of our operations, whilst maximising the potential for environmental improvement.
